Feeding: During the first stages of its life until its youth it feeds on insects and vegetables, during its adult stage its diet is almost exclusively vegetables, such as leaves, flowers and fruits.
Habits: It is diurnal and spends most of its time in the trees, where it finds its food. It uses its tail like a whip to defend itself from predators and can swim and dive to escape them, which is why it prefers to live near water sources. During the mating season the male is territorial.
